What about a sales tax?

It appears Mayor Jim Wetherington is going to postpone a call for a new sales tax until May or June. This will put some time between the failure of the TAD in Columbus and the vote on the new 1 percent tax. This tax will go toward raises for public safety as well as road improvements. Public safety workers are expected to hit the streets in support the tax but only if it comes from the Mayor. They don't want council or the city manager to be out front — just Wetherington.
