Housecleaning at the Movies

Does Carmike Theaters own a mop or a broom?

Their theaters are so filthy and slimy they make you want to hose down after leaving a movie. Peachtree is following the same direction as Columbus Square and the one next to the Sheraton. They're both shabby, but the showplace at Columbus Park Crossing isn't much better.

Too bad we have a monopoly. If there was some competition in town this wouldn't happen.

I totally agree with you. They have all of those teens working out there and the places is filthy. Where's the manager?

You're right about them being kids. But a bigger problem is that they don't have enough of the teens. The new theater has all those registers at the concession stand and nobody to man them.

I'd settle for that if my shoes didn't stick to the floor when I'm going to my seat.

It seems to me that they are letting the Peachtree go like they did the Columbus Square and the Sidney Simons theaters. I guess "north of Macon Road" - or in this case, Manchester Expwy - isn't the best area anymore. Maybe we should all move to Harris County!

You are so right. A friend told me going to Columbus Square was like having a private showing and he was right. One night I bought a ticket, went into the appropriate theater and sat down. I waited and waited but no movie. About 10 minutes after showtime I went out front. They said, "Oh, we didn't know you were in there." How efficient is that?
