Should NBC have aired the video and other materials from the Virginia Tech shooter?

I agree with one commentator I heard who said if NBC did not, someone else would get hold of the materials and would air them. I think NBC has handled this in a very responsible way by not releasing all of the materials that could be redundant and full of profanity.

His rants were worse than his profanity.
Journalism is my profession, but I question NBC's decision to go public before the victims have been buried.
